General diet guidelines:-

Pregnant women or people who are planning for the pregnancy have to follow some particular diet plans which are mentioned below.

  • Milk and dairy food:- These are the most preferred items for the pregnant woman. These items contain a large no. of proteins and are high in calcium. It is very important to the mother as well as the baby.
  • Foods contain fat and sugar:- These are the food items which have to be avoided during pregnancy time or to take them in limited quantities.
  • Meat , Fish and Alternatives:- Here alternative includes Eggs, Nuts, Pulses, and vegetables these have to take in a moderate amount.

 

Symptoms during and after pregnancy:

  • Lower back pain is caused due to the growth of the baby.  

  • Due to changes in posture of baby neck pain and headache will increase.

  • Pain in hamstrings .

  • Arm pain caused by nerve compression .

  • Bladder leakage during and after pregnancy occurs due to strained pelvic muscles.

  • Stretching of  the abdomen  leading to back pain .

  • Due to ineffective abdominal contractions delivery may be difficult.

  • Women need to do exercise to stop their bones getting weaker.

How much exercise do you need during pregnancy?

Healthy pregnant women need to do exercise for at least 2 hours a day. Aerobic exercise makes you breathe fast and makes your heart beat faster. Taking a walk is an example of aerobic activity. If you are working too hard,you can’t talk normally during an activity. 

Why is physical activity during pregnancy good for you? 

For healthy pregnant women, regular exercise can:

  • Keep your mind and body relaxed.
  • Help reduce your risk of having a cesarean birth
  • Help you manage stress and sleep better. 
  • Makes you physically fit and gives you extra energy.
  • Prepare your body for labor and birth.
  • Helps you gain the right amount of weight during pregnancy. 
  • Help reduce your risk of pregnancy complications.
