Family planning is the ability of the couples to attain their desired number of children. It is achieved through use of contraceptive methods and the treatment of involuntary infertility. These matters are impacted by external factors such as marital situation, career considerations, and financial position that may affect their ability to have children and raise them. If they are sexually active, family planning may involve to controls to  give a birth to the child. 

Family planning contributes to the improved health of Infants, children and families. We give advice to individuals in determining the number of children and the spacing of their children. We educate and provide medical care to couples or to mothers. We provide temporary family planning methods and also permanent methods like Laparoscopic sterilization for women and Vasectomy for men.

Temporary methods include:–

  • IUD
  • Hormonal pills
  • injection
  • Barrier methods like condoms
  • Emergency contraception

Permanent methods:–

Tubectomy:- Laparoscopic tubal Ligation is preferred due to very low failure rates of Mini laparotomy and tubal Ligation can be done after the delivery time. The patient will be discharged on the same day. She can resume her work within 7 days of the surgery and have to take precautions like avoiding heavy weight lifting.

Vasectomy:- It is an easier and safer procedure compared to tubectomy. No stitches are required in vasectomy and the recovery is quicker.

– Reversal is easier  in vasectomy.

–To reduce the surgical complications for women men have to motivate themselves for this procedure.
